The present invention provides a backlight assembly of which durability can be increased, and manufacturing costs can be reduced. The backlight assembly comprises: a light source for generating a light of a first color; a light emitting unit arranged on the light source for comprising a phosphor having a second color; an optical filter unit for filtering a light emitted from the light emitting unit; and a color conversion element arranged close to the optical filter unit for including a third color having a shorter wavelength than the second color.
