According to an embodiment of the present invention, a sensing circuit for recognizing a motion includes: at least one light emitting element for emitting light; at least one light receiving element receiving the light reflected by an object on the light emitting element, and generating a plurality of current signals in proportional to the quantity of the light; a signal converting part converting the current signals into a plurality of digital signals; a recognizing part measuring a synthetic digital signal for determining whether the object is moved or not by receiving the digital signal; and a control part controlling the recognizing part. The recognizing part generates a clock signal for a synthetic digital signal, bigger than a threshold value, and measures a count generated by the clock signal. The control part determines whether the object is moved or not by comparing the count to a reference value. The recognizing part includes a signal detecting part measuring sizes of the digital signals at regular time intervals; a synthetic signal detecting part measuring the size of the synthetic digital signal by the sum of the sizes of the digital signals at regular time intervals, and outputting the clock signal if the size of the synthetic digital signal is not bigger than the threshold value; a counter measuring the count increased by the input of the clock signal; and a direction determining part determining a direction of the motion of the object from a difference value between the digital signals.
