The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a health functional food for preventing or treating diabetes containing N-(2-hydroxytethyl)-3-(6-(4-(trifluoromethoxy)phnylamino)pyrimidin-4-yl)benzamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active component. The N-(2-hydroxytethyl)-3-(6-(4-(trifluoromethoxy)phnylamino)pyrimidin-4-yl)benzamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof may be effectively used in treatment of diabetes, and the compound may be used as a health functional food for preventing or treating diabetes.
