FIELD: physics, control.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operation of mills and can be used in appropriate control devices. Proposed method consists in the rpm regulator is used to control the drive for mill case set to run at rpm controlled in current operation of the mill at varying operating characteristics. Rpm is controlled in compliance with the first set of preset rpm and second set of preset rpm. First set of preset rpm is selected to optimize grinding of coarse and/or loose particles in grinding materials. Second set of preset rpm is selected to optimize grinding of finer particles in the material and/or discharge of ground material from the mill.
