Disclosed are a method for connecting a wireless LAN and a wireless LAN terminal wherein wireless LAN connection between the wireless LAN terminal and an access point can be smoothly performed even when a character conversion protocol, set as a default in the wireless LAN terminal, is not same with a character conversion protocol, used by the access point. The wireless LAN terminal according to the present invention performs wireless LAN communication with the access point and includes: a transmission and reception unit which transmits and receives a signal, including SSID, to and from the access point; a character conversion protocol storage unit which stores the N number of character conversion protocols; and a character conversion unit which converts characters of the transmitted and received signal by using the character conversion protocol stored in the character conversion protocol storage unit. |
