The present invention relates to a connection adapter for transmitting signals of a programmable logic controller, wherein the programmable logic controller comprises a signal interface having electrical contact pins arranged in rows, with: contact terminals (503) for the electrical contacting of the electrical contact pins of the signal interface, wherein each contact terminal (503) is configured for respectively receiving an electrical contact pin of the signal interface; contact chambers (501) for receiving the contact terminals (503), wherein each contact terminal (503) is arranged in a respective contact chamber (501), and wherein the contact chambers (501) are arranged in rows, and wherein insulating elements (504) are arranged between adjacent contact chambers (501) to increase a dielectric strength; and a housing (101) in which the contact terminals (503) and the contact chambers (501) are received, wherein the housing (101) is closed and electrically insulated.
