[Class 38 (i)] A multiple cable connection comprises a base member a having a series of recesses b to locate socket contacts c and a cover h that fits over the base member and encloses both the socket contacts c and the plug contacts g which have been inserted singly in the sockets, to prevent separation of the contacts. Each socket c has a neck e fitting in a slot in the wall d of the recess b. The cover h has recesses k to receive the plug contacts g and shoulders j to engage the collars m on the plugs. In a modification the recesses k are formed in the base a. The sockets may have a cut-away central portion embraced by a thin metal lip n to form a resilient grip for the plug. The base a may be a single moulding or built up of sections each carrying a proportion of the sockets, and end sections all secured together by bolts running from end to end. Where inter-connection of the circuits is required a metal strip may be sprung over the corresponding sockets or plugs. The contacts may be arranged in a circular layout. The sockets may be compressed by the cover to grip the plugs.
