<p>The invention concerns an environmentally friendly method for treating water by coagulation-flocculation, using a polyelectolyte extracted from cactus cladodes, comprising the following steps. A pretreatment sequence needs to be carried out on the cladode before extracting the polyelectolyte, comprising; washing with water, elimination of the spines, and cutting into small pieces before extraction of the bioflocculant. The bioflocculant is added to the turbid water samples after optimising the treatment pH. After completing flocculation, the solution is left to settle, and a clear water and a sludge containing biodegradable natural products are recovered.</p> |
