In order to perform processing for reducing an original image while minimizing the reduction of an intrinsically reproducible frequency band, a solid-state image pickup element (1) is provided with: a photoelectric conversion unit (2) which is formed by two-dimensionally, lengthwise and breadthwise, arranging pixels of a plurality of colors having a predetermined periodicity in color arrangement; a pixel mixing and reading unit (3) which mixes pixel signals acquired by the photoelectric conversion unit (2) in units of pixels of the same color in a block of n×n (n is any integer of 2 or more) pixels, and outputs multiple channels of reduced image signals with a reduction ratio of 1/n; and an inter-channel deviation correction unit (4) which corrects the deviation of the reduced image signals outputted by the pixel mixing and reading unit (3) between the channels, and outputs the reduced image signals. |
