摘要 Embodiments of the invention relate to implementing a probabilistic graphical model (PGM) using magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs). One embodiment comprises a memory array of magnetic tunnel junctions and a driver unit for programming the memory array to represent a probabilistic graphical model. The magnetic tunnel junctions are organized into multiple subsets of magnetic tunnel junctions. The driver unit selectively applies an electrical pulse to a subset of magnetic tunnel junctions to program information representing a probabilistic belief state in said subset of magnetic tunnel junctions.

A device, comprising: a processor; a memory array of magnetic tunnel junctions, wherein the magnetic tunnel junctions are organized into multiple subsets of magnetic tunnel junctions; and a driver unit that programs the memory array to represent a probabilistic graphical model comprising at least one observed node and at least one unobserved node, wherein the driver unit selectively programs a subset of magnetic tunnel junctions with information representing a probabilistic belief state, and selectively sets one of a pair of flags corresponding to said subset of magnetic tunnel junctions, such that said set flag identifies said probabilistic belief state as one of an observed probabilistic belief state for an observed node and an estimated probabilistic belief state for an unobserved node; wherein each subset of magnetic tunnel junctions has a corresponding data unit for maintaining a probability value representing a probabilistic belief state of said subset of magnetic tunnel junctions.
