Disclosed in the present invention are a method and system for the dead pixel correction of a digital image, comprising: pre-correcting a dead pixel; computing a similarity relationship between multiple normal pixels and the dead pixel; and then computing weights between the multiple normal pixels and the dead pixel according to the similarity relationship between the multiple normal pixels and the dead pixel; normalizing the weights, and using the weighted sum of the normalized weights of the normal pixels as a dead pixel correction value. By adopting the approach described above, different influences of pixels within neighborhood on the dead pixel correction can be taken into full consideration in the present invention, as a result of which the dead pixel correction value better approximates to original information and therefore the dead pixel is corrected in a more accurate way.
