The invention relates to a method for controlling an illuminating device (BE) in a motor vehicle. In said method, a semiconductor lighting device (HL), which is installed in the motor vehicle and which has a number of semiconductor diodes (DI), which emit light in a first operating mode of the semiconductor lighting device (HL), is switched into a second operating mode, in which a measured value is captured which represents the photovoltage (UPH) that is generated by at least one semiconductor diode (DI) in a state without light emission because of light in the environment of the motor vehicle. If the photovoltage (UPH) passes a specified threshold value (UT), the illuminating device (BE) changes the illumination state thereof. |
