A production method for a pants-type disposable diaper, that uses a space-saving and simple device, reduces the risk of wrinkles, and is characterized by: a continuous sheet material (12S) being provided along the continuation direction thereof; having elastic stretching/shrinking members (15-18) for applying elasticity to a ventral outer cover body (12F) and a dorsal outer cover body (12B), arranged in a CD direction intermediate section (12c) of the sheet material (12S); a section more on one side and a section more on the other side in the CD direction than the CD direction intermediate section (12c) each being folded back to the side having the elastic stretching/shrinking members (15-18) in the CD direction intermediate section (12c); the elastic stretching/shrinking members (15-18) being sandwiched and fixed by the folded back sheet material (12s); the folded back sections and the CD direction intermediate section (12c) being joined and a continuous elastic belt being formed; and an inner cover body (200) being assembled in a dorsal side elastic belt (12b) and a ventral-side elastic belt (12f) that are obtained by cutting the elastic belt at the CD direction intermediate position.
