PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waiting time required from when a user selects a video content from a distribution menu until when the video content is actually reproduced, in comparison to a conventional data distribution device, when causing a content reproduction terminal to reproduce the video content whose distribution is requested.SOLUTION: A data distribution device for distributing data to a terminal via a network includes an information data distribution unit for distributing information data including one or more pieces of identification information for identifying a content to the terminal. The information data includes information for the terminal to control acquisition of data of the content during a period in which the content indicated by the identification information included in the information data itself is not reproduced.
