An air spring is provided with: a first support member (10); second support members (20, 30) arranged so as to be separated by a gap in a primary load direction as seen from the first support member (10); a diaphragm (50) for forming a closed space by connecting the first support member (10) and the second support members (20, 30), the diaphragm (50) being capable of elastic deformation; a detection unit for detecting displacement of the relative distance between the first support member (10) and the second support members (20, 30) and performing mechanical output; and a control member (70) for enabling air in the closed space (S) to be released out of the closed space (S) in accordance with the mechanical output from the detection unit. It is thereby possible to provide an air spring provided with a mechanism for minimizing any increases in abnormalities of the height of a vehicle without adversely affecting the diaphragm (50).
