A steering device is provided with: an outer shaft (21) disposed around a center axis (AX) and having an inner space (25) including a spline hole section (40); and an inner shaft (22) having at least a part thereof disposed within the inner space (25). The inner shaft (22) includes: a first spline shaft section (44) having a synthetic resin surface and disposed around the center axis (AX); and a shaft section (45) having a synthetic resin surface disposed around the center axis (AX), the shaft section (45) being disposed adjacent to one end of the first spline shaft section (44) in an axial direction parallel to the center axis (AX), the shaft section (45) including one end of the inner shaft (22), said end being disposed within the inner space (25). The distance between the center axis (AX) and the surface of the shaft section (45) is less than the distance between the center axis (AX) and the surface of the first spline shaft section (44). The spline hole section (40) and the first spline shaft section (44) are fitted together through the splines, and the outer shaft (21) and the inner shaft (22) are relatively axially movable. |
