[Class 97 (i)] A unit for an optical projector comprises a reflector ] and condenser 2 mounted in spaced relation in two holder portions of a single integral casting which is so formed as to fit into a tubular housing or sheath and to allow room for a lamp to be positioned between the reflector and condenser. As shown, the casting comprises annular holder portions 3, 4 connected by two side bars 5, the reflector and condenser being held against shoulders in the annular portions by springs. A number of strips 10a of heat-absorbing glass are held in grooves formed in two segmental parts 11 projecting from the annular portion 4. The surface 3b of the portion 3 and the partcylindrical surfaces 11c of the projections 11 are both machined to the same radius and form bearing surfaces by which the unit is centred in the tubular sheath. |
