PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to enjoy appreciating a moving image without monotonousness by appropriately varying an image.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging unit; a monotonousness determination unit for determining a monotonous portion over a certain period of time out of moving image data acquired by the imaging unit; and an auxiliary image determination unit which determines, out of the moving image data, auxiliary image data synthesized in place of the monotonous portion in the moving image data.
