PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting method and a casting machine capable of preventing cracking of the central portion of a cast piece that may be generated in a casting process.SOLUTION: A casting method comprises at least a cooling step of cooling a cast piece including an unsolidified part and a solidified shell on an outer peripheral portion of the unsolidified part, the cooling step including suppressing cooling of the cast piece by cooling suppression means.
