A communication architecture and method suitable for a modular multi-level converter control system, the communication architecture comprising an optical fiber communication board of a valve base control (VBC) device and optical transceiver module of the optical fiber communication board, and a submodular control unit (SMC) of a converter and an optical transceiver module of the SMC, and an optical fiber channel; the VBC is configured with at least one optical fiber communication board, and the optical fiber communication board is configured with at least one optical transceiver module; the optical fiber channel is used to transmit information between the VBC and the SMC and/or information between SMCs. The communication architecture solves the problem caused by a mismatching count of optical fiber communication ports between the VBC and the SMC, thus reducing the complexity of system software and hardware design, and being suitable for a high-voltage and high-capacity flexible direct current system with more SMCs via flexible extension. |
