PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion-exchange membrane having a high charge density, a high ion exchange capacity, and a high crosslinking density, the ion-exchange membrane having a low value of product of electric resistance and water permeability, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: An ion-exchange membrane is obtained using an ionic monomer having at least two or more polymerizable functional groups, wherein the ion-exchange membrane has a hydrophobicity index H of 1.6 or higher as determined by the formula in a monomer that constitutes the ion-exchange resin in the ion-exchange membrane, and a material fixed to the resin; and a method for producing the ion-exchange membrane.
