A blood vessel analysis model is created by reading previously stored image data for blood vessels of a subject from a storage unit. Simulation of blood flowing in the blood vessel analysis model is performed according to boundary conditions for any of the positions of multiple capillaries branching downstream of a specified position in the created blood vessel analysis model, the capillary flow resistances, and pressure, flow volume and flow velocity at the blood inflow sections and outflow sections to determine the respective pressure losses for the multiple routes from said specified position to the various capillaries. By comparing the pressure losses for the multiple routes determined by the calculation unit with previously determined reference values, blood vessels with stenotic sites or occluded sites are identified. |
