<p>Abstract A cast metal ingot, wherein a solidification front remains substantially planar during casting, wherein the ingot has a top section, a middle section, and a bottom section, wherein the bottom section is composed of metal of a first composition, the top section is composed of metal of a second composition, and the middle section is composed of a mixture of metal of the first composition and the second composition (OR) wherein the top and bottom sections are composed of a metal alloy of a first composition, and the middle section is composed of a mixture of the first composition and a second composition.</p> |
