PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile bearing implant extending a range of movements that can be accommodated, such as sliding and rotational movement.SOLUTION: A mobile bearing implant 1100 includes a first component 1102 and a bearing component 1101. The first component includes a bone facing surface 1104 for engaging one of a substantially uncut articular cartilage surface and a substantially uncut subchondral bone surface. The bone facing surface substantially matches the one of the articular cartilage surface and the subchondral bone surface. The mobile bearing implant further includes an external surface 1105. The bearing component has a first surface 1106 for slidingly engaging the external surface of the first component, and a second surface 1107 for engaging at least one of a second component, bone, and cartilage. |
