Provided is a sealed battery including a battery case which is obtained by welding an outer can and a lid plate to each other, in which the sealed battery has a configuration capable of obtaining both advantageous effects in which: the thickness of the battery case can be decreased to decrease the size of the battery; and a decrease in the weld strength between the outer can and the lid plate can be prevented.;The sealed battery includes a battery case in which an electrode body and an electrolytic solution are sealed. The battery case includes: a box-shaped outer can having an opening; and a lid plate that is welded to an edge portion of the opening in a state of covering the opening. In the lid plate, a thickness of an outer peripheral portion welded to the edge portion of the opening is greater than a thickness of a portion covering the electrode body.

a battery case in which an electrode body and an electrolytic solution are sealed, wherein the battery case includes: a box-shaped outer can having an opening; and a lid plate that is welded to an edge portion of the opening in a state of covering the opening, and in the lid plate, a thickness of an outer peripheral portion welded to the edge portion is greater than a thickness of a portion covering the electrode body.
