DUMMY PORT PINGING TO MAINTAIN A FIXED CLIENT NAT

In an example implementation, a processor-readable medium stores code representing instructions that when executed by a processor ping a dummy port endpoint at a signaling server on a regular basis to maintain a fixed network address translation (NAT) between a client device and the dummy port endpoint. The processor further receives a task notification from the signaling server dummy port endpoint and connects to an XMPP server to process the task. After processing the task, the processor disconnects from the XMPP server and continues to ping the dummy port endpoint at the signaling server.
