The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for generating a 3D image using a monoscopic camera. According to the present invention, the intensity of light can be adjusted in stages. A monoscopic camera photographs images according to the level of light intensity. Each of the images according to the level of light intensity is converted into a binary image. After that, a difference image between the converted binary images is obtained. The difference image is reconstructed to generate a 3D image.
