[Class 83 (iii)] A lathe tool rest comprises a base 1, adapted to be clamped to a tool-slide, carrying a body portion 2 with a toothed periphery 5 adapted to be engaged by an arc-shaped portion 4 of a co-operating tooth form, cut on one side of a tool carrier 3. The tool carrier is provided with recesses 12, 13, into which the ends 10, 11 of a pair of clamping members 6, 7 slidably engage. The clamping members are provided with interfitting bosses opposite the tool carrying member and an eccentric pin passes through these so that by means of a handle 9 attached to the pin the tool-carrier may be clamped in any position around the periphery of the body 2. An adjusting screw 15 enables the height of the tool carrier to be varied. |
