There is provided a lens cap (1) that can prevent a cap main frame (2) from inadvertently falling off, as operating members (3A, 3B) are prevented from coming into contact with a hand or the like by mistake. On the front surface of the cap main frame (2) that is to cover a front end opening of a lens barrel, concave portions (2a) are formed. The concave portions (2a) surround the outer peripheral surfaces of the operating members (3A, 3B) so that the operating members (3A, 3B) do not protrude outward from the outer peripheral surface of the cap main frame (2). Movement of the back surfaces of the operating members (3A, 3B) are stopped by the concave portions (2a). First openings (2c) into which engaging portions (3a) are to be inserted, and second openings (2d) into which first locking portions (3b) are to be inserted are formed in the bottoms of the concave portions (2a). First to-be-locked portions (5a) to be locked with the first locking portions (3b), and second to-be-locked portions (5b) to be locked with second locking portions (3c) are formed on cover plates (5A, 5B) that are placed on the side of the back surface of the cap main frame (2). |
