PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a square battery having a structure of excellent productivity in which an insulating member can be interposed easily between a battery container and a power generation element, and the attachment work of the insulating member can be automated easily, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: A square battery 1 includes an insulating protective film 41 interposed between a battery can 11 and a wound electrode 31.
