<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary encoder capable of detecting rotational movement of a magnetic scale with good accuracy even if positional displacement occurs in the magnetic scale and a magnetic sensor substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary encoder 1 includes: magnetic resistance patterns SIN+ and SIN- having +a phase and -a phase for detecting A phase; and magnetic resistance patterns COS+ and COS- having +b phase and -b phase for detecting B phase, on a magnetic sensor substrate 32. The magnetic resistance patterns SIN+ and COS+ are formed as a first laminated magnetic resistance pattern 351 in which the patterns are laminated, the magnetic resistance patterns SIN- and COS- are formed as a second laminated magnetic resistance pattern 352 in which the patterns are laminated, the magnetic resistance patterns SIN+ and COS+ are arranged at a position where the patterns are displaced by a minimum mechanical angle at which +a phase and +b phase make a minimum phase difference, and the magnetic resistance patterns SIN- and COS- are arranged at a position where the patterns are displaced by a minimum mechanical angle at which -a phase and -b phase make a minimum phase difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
