<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for canceling optimal and suboptimal interference, with high efficiency. According to the present invention, the apparatus comprises: a pre-processing unit for generating a reception signal vector from a signal received by a plurality of receiving antennas; a compensation and interference cancellation unit for calculating at least one of an optimal calculation order and upper triangular matrix of an augmented channel matrix, and an inverse matrix of the upper triangular matrix; a normal equation solving unit for calculating a reception signal having reversed order based on the reception signal vector, the optimal calculation order and upper triangular matrix, or the inverse matrix of the upper triangular matrix, and calculating an undetected signal based on the reception signal having the reversed order and upper triangular matrix, or the inverse matrix of the upper triangular matrix, for each step corresponding to each transmission antenna; a quantization unit for quantizing the undetected signal to calculate a transmission signal having reversed order for each step; and a permutation substitution unit for reversing the order of the transmission signal having the reversed order again to calculate the transmission signal. Therefore, the complexity of the apparatus and the method for canceling optimal and suboptimal interference is reduced, thereby saving time and computational resources necessary to cancel interference while maintaining reception performance of the receiving apparatus to be optimal or suboptimal. Thus, manufacturing costs can be reduced while improving performance of a mobile communications or wireless communications receiver or maintaining the same performance.</p> |
