<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage medium reproducing apparatus which can properly read information of a memory element. <P>SOLUTION: A storage medium reproducing apparatus comprises: a storage part 110; a comparison part 104; an error detection part 106; and a threshold value generation part 107. The storage part 110 comprises: a plurality of memory elements which can hold electrical charges and represent 2-bit codes associated with four ranges determined by an amount of electric charges to three threshold values with a minimum or maximum value as a fixed value so that hamming distance between adjacent codes is 1. The comparison part 104 reads out the respective 2-bit codes according to the amount of electric charges held in each memory element by using the three threshold values corresponding to respective memory elements. The error detection part 106 detects whether an error exists for each bit with respect to a column of each read out 2-bit code. When the error is detected in a bit, the threshold value generation part 107 changes the threshold value which corresponds to the bit including the detected error and which is not fixed value, so as to a correct bit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
