<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head cap which protects a liquid ejection hole surface where a plurality of liquid ejection holes of a liquid ejection head are located and a preservation method of the liquid ejection head using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid ejection head cap 60 includes a support member 62, an elastic film 64 which is disposed on the support member 62 with a space 70 therebetween and which is joined to the support member 62 at the outer peripheral portion and has a protrusion 64a formed over the entire circumference of the outer peripheral portion of a surface opposite to the surface joined to the support member 62, and a protective film 66 disposed so as to abut the protrusion 64a, and protects an ejection hole surface 4-1 of a liquid ejection head 2 with the ejection hole surface 4-1 where ejection holes 8 are opened.
