An air supply system on a vehicle (1) for supplying air to an on board consumer (30, 40, 50, 60) and a tyre (2a), the consumer (30, 40, 50, 60) has a respective reservoir (31, 41) and the system comprises an air compressor (10) and a dryer (101) connectable to the tyre (2a) wherein prior to shut down of the vehicle (1), the pressure in the tyre (2a) is increased and whereupon starting the vehicle (1) the pressure in the consumer reservoir (31, 41) is measured and if the consumer reservoir pressure is lower than the desired pressure, deflated air from the tyre (2a) is used to increase the pressure of the consumer reservoir (31, 41). |
