A device for monitoring household food stock comprises means for scanning product barcodes, a digital display, wireless communication means such as Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth (RTM), an input keypad, and power supply means. The device records food stock and usage, and can reorder food directly from supermarkets according to usage or desired minimum stock levels. Items are scanned in and scanned out of stock using the barcode scanner. The display allows stock levels to be viewed. The power supply preferably comprises mains electricity with backup battery. The device may be fixed to the inside of a cupboard, such as a larder. |
