The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing water extracts of Rubus coreanus Miquel as an active ingredient having an angiogenesis inhibitory activity in regard to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and water extracts of Rubus coreanus Miquel of the present invention exhibits an angiogenesis inhibitory activity due to inhibiting phosphorylation of extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK), p38, and VEGF receptor by VEGF, inhibiting vascular endothelial cell proliferation about VEGF, inhibiting vascular endothelial cell migration by VEGF and inhibiting aorta sprouting by VEGF, and thus can be helpfully used for preventing and treating eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, etc. and cancer diseases by angiogenesis.
