<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic book system 1 capable of suppressing a file size of an electronic book 60 and efficiently displaying the electronic book 60 including special characters. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic book system 1 allows browsing of the electronic book 60 using a book display device 30 including a viewer application 50 for converting and displaying the electronic book 60, and a basic character table 52 in which highly frequently used basic characters are registered is provided in the viewer application 50. The electronic book 60 comprises a special character table 64 prepared by registering special characters which are not the basic characters of original data 40 extracted on the basis of the basic character table 52, and content data 61 including book character information 62 for which the original data 40 is converted. The viewer application 50 is provided with character group conversion processing for converting the book character information 62 to browsable font type characters on the basis of the basic character table 52 and the special character table 64. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
