Provided are a medical image processing apparatus and a medical image processing method thereby. The image processing apparatus includes: an image obtaining unit which receives a first image photographing an object; and an image processing unit which calculates a scaling factor adjusting a magnification of the first image based on statistical information corresponding to the object and normalizes the size of the object by applying the calculated scaling factor to the first image to generate a second image to be displayed.
