An amyloidogenic peptide biospecific agent comprises a nanoparticle which is visible under near infrared (NIR) and/or using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and/or Computed Tomography (CT). The biospecific agent further comprises at least one antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof, which is immunospecific for a transferrin receptor and an amyloidogenic peptide. The nanoparticle may comprise a CdSe innercore 4 coated encapsulated with gadolinium (Gd)-DOTA shell to facilitate imaging the particle. Fab fragment 14 may be immunospecific for oligomers and fibrils of beta amyloid whereas fragment 12 binds the transferrin receptor to facilitate crossing the blood brain barrier by transcytosis. Therapeutic methods employing the conjugate are also proposed. |
