<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which has a configuration using an induction heating system, detects a temperature state of a heat generating member without using a temperature sensor, and is capable of temperature control of the heat generating member based on the detection result, and also to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with this fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device 20 includes an exciting coil 27 as an exciting member, which forms a magnetic field by impressing an AC current from an inverter, and a heat generating member 30 which generates heat by induction heating due to influence of a magnetic field and is made of a magnetic body having the Curie temperature in the vicinity of the fixing temperature. This fixing device fixes an unfixed toner T as an unfixed image on the surface of a recording material P as a recording material to the recording material P by using heat of the heat generating member 30. This fixing device also includes a detection coil 28 and a detection circuit as a magnetic permeability change detection means which detects changes in magnetic permeability of the heat generating member 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
