CONTROL METHOD FOR DRIVING ELECTRIC COMPRESSOR

Disclosed is a method to control the operation of an electric compressor capable of reducing power consumption and improving fuel efficiency by turning off a compressor when a target temperature is lower than a current temperature and a target revolutions per minute is lower than the minimum revolutions per minute wherein the target discharge temperature of an air conditioning system and the target revolutions per minute of the electric compressor are calculated based on a difference between a calorie which the internal room of an environmentally friendly vehicle requires and an internal temperature currently measured in the vehicle. The method to control the operation of a compressor comprises: a step (S10) of calculating a target discharge temperature of an air conditioning system; a step (S12) of calculating a target revolutions per minute of an electric compressor (10) based on the target discharge temperature calculated in the step (S10); a step (S14) of comparing the target discharge temperature calculated in the step (S10) with a current temperature; a step (S16) of comparing the target revolutions per minute of the electric compressor (10) with the minimum revolutions per minute required for the driving of the electric compressor (10) when the target discharge temperature is lower than the current room temperature of a vehicle in the step (S14); and a step (S18) of turning off the electric compressor (10) if the target revolutions per minute of the electric compressor is lower than the minimum revolutions per minute in the step (S16).
