<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a composite optical element in which resin can be filled inside an optical effective part of a mold without shortage, and extravasations of resin outside the mold can be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The mold 10 including: the optical effective part (grid) 14 to form a resin layer of the composite optical element; two banks 11, 13 which are disposed concentrically outside the optical effective part; and a groove 12 which is disposed between the banks 11, 13 is prepared. The resin is dropped to the mold 10, and a board is pressured while abutted to the two banks 11, 13.
