<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an antiresonance phenomenon in an air cleaner equipped with a resonance silencer, and to improve the silencing performance of the air cleaner.SOLUTION: An air cleaner 1 has a pair of cases 2 and 3 forming an expansion space, and a platy filter element 4 sandwiched by the cases and partitioning the expansion space into an upstream side and a downstream side. A resonance silencer 5 having a communicating portion 52 communicating to the expansion space and a resonant chamber 51 is integrally provided on the cases. The communicating portion 52 of the resonance silencer opens so as to oppose to a part where a filtering material 41 of a filter element is exposed. When assuming representative dimensions on a short side of an opening shape of the opening as Gs, a distance between the opening and the exposed filtering material as L, L is made to be a half or less of Gs.</p> |
