The invention describes a grounding arrangement (1) for a direct-drive wind turbine generator (3) comprising an outer rotor (30), a stator (31), and a bearing (32) arranged between the rotor (30) and the stator (31); which grounding arrangement (1) comprises a number of grounding elements (2), and wherein a grounding element (2) comprises a grounding brush (20) arranged to provide a current path (P SS , P OV , P BP ) from the rotor (30) to electrical ground (GND), which current path (P SS , P OV , P BP ) bypasses the bearing (32). The invention further describes a grounding element (2) for providing a current path (P SS , P OV , P BP ) to electrical ground (GND) from the rotor (30) of a direct-drive wind turbine generator (3), which grounding element (2) comprises a brush (20) comprising a spring-loaded portion (201) and a contact portion (202) for making electrical contact to a surface (301, 302, 303) of the rotor (30); a bracket (23, 23', 23") realised to be mounted to a stationary part (31, 33) of the generator (3); and a holding element (21) realised to hold the brush (20) in the bracket (23, 23', 23") such that the contact portion (202) is pressed against the rotor surface (301, 302, 303). The invention also describes a direct-drive wind turbine generator (3); and a method of performing maintenance on a grounding arrangement (1). |
