In an imaging system and an imaging method which captures the image of an object with a selected imaging mode, an appropriate main exposure time is calculated with high accuracy in each imaging mode. An imaging system 1 includes imaging means (imaging apparatus 10) for capturing the image of an object S, input receiving means (operating unit 104), and calculation means (exposure time calculation unit 110) for changing an exposure time calculation method for calculating an exposure time required for a main imaging operation according to an imaging mode input to the input receiving means and calculating the exposure time. The imaging means captures the image of the object S at the exposure time calculated by the calculation means. |
