摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a photonic device fixing material giving a cured product having excellent heat resistance and transparency and having high adhesion, a method for using the same, and a photonic device sealed body. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for a photonic device fixing material includes: (A) a silane compound copolymer obtained by condensing a silane compound mixture including a silane compound (1) represented by formula: CH(R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>)(X<SP POS="POST">0</SP>)-D-Si(OR<SP POS="POST">2</SP>)<SB POS="POST">p</SB>(X<SP POS="POST">1</SP>)<SB POS="POST">3-p</SB>, a silane compound (2) represented by formula: R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>Si(OR<SP POS="POST">4</SP>)<SB POS="POST">q</SB>(X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>)<SB POS="POST">3-q</SB>, and a silane compound (3) represented by formula: Si(OR<SP POS="POST">5</SP>)<SB POS="POST">r</SB>(X<SP POS="POST">3</SP>)<SB POS="POST">4-r</SB>, the silane compounds (1) to (3) being included in a molar ratio [silane compound (1)+silane compound (2)]:[silane compound (3)] of (100:15) to (100:85); (B) an epoxy compound; (C) a curing agent; and (D) a curing catalyst. In the formulae, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a 1C-6C alkyl group; X<SP POS="POST">0</SP>represents a halogen atom, a cyano group or a group represented by the formula: OG (G is a protective group for a hydroxy group); D represents a single bond or a linking group; R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>individually represent a 1C-6C alkyl group; X<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to X<SP POS="POST">3</SP>individually represent a halogen atom; p and q individually represent an integer of 0-3; R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>represents a 1C-20C alkyl group or a phenyl group which may have a substituent; and r represents an integer of 0-4.
