The anti-scatter grid covers the measuring layer and is aligned toward a specific focal point. The evaluation unit is configured to determine a focal position of an x-ray source relative to the focal point based on a local intensity difference of x-rays striking the measuring layer.

1. An x-ray detector, comprising:
an anti-scatter grid; a measuring layer including an arrangement of measuring cells, the anti-scatter grid covering the measuring layer and being aligned at a focal point; and an evaluation unit, configured to determine a focal position of an x-ray source relative to the focal point based on differences between respective local intensities detected by individual ones of only a portion of the measuring cells, the respective local intensities being intensities of x-rays incident on the measuring layer.
