摘要 To provide a novel carbazole compound that has an excellent carrier-transport property and can be used for a transport layer or as a host material in a light-emitting element. Further, to provide an organic semiconductor material and a material for a light-emitting element using the carbazole compound. A carbazole compound in which the 4-position of a dibenzothiophene skeleton or a dibenzofuran skeleton is substituted with the 2- or 3-position of a carbazole skeleton directly or via an arylene group can be synthesized. The carbazole compound is found to have a suitable carrier-transport property, a good film quality, and be used suitably as a material of a light-emitting element and an organic semicondcutor material. Note that nitrogen of the carbazole skeleton is substituted with any of a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, and a naphthyl group.

A carbazole compound represented by a general formula (G1), wherein Ar1 is any of a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, and a naphthyl group; Ar2 is a group represented by a general formula (g1); Ar3 is any of hydrogen, a group represented by a general formula (g2), and a group represented by a general formula (g3); n is 0 or 1; a1 is a phenylene group or a biphenyldiyl group; a substitution site of Ar2 is a carbon atom represented by either α or β, and a substitution site of Ar3 is a carbon atom represented by either γ or δ; and Ar1 and a1 independently have no substituent or a first substituent, and the first substituent is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 1 to 13 carbon atoms; wherein R1 to R7 are each independently any of hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, and a naphthyl group; m is 0 or 1; a2 is a phenylene group or a biphenyldiyl group; Q1 is sulfur; R1 to R7 and a2 independently have no substituent or a second substituent, and the second substituent is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 1 to 13 carbon atoms; wherein R9 to R15 are each independently any of hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, and a naphthyl group; k is 0 or 1; a3 is a phenylene group or a biphenyldiyl group; Q2 is sulfur; and R9 to R15 and a3 independently have no substituent or a third substituent, and the third substituent is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 1 to 13 carbon atoms; and wherein k is 0 or 1; a3 is a pheneylene group or a biphenyldiyl group; Ar4 is any of a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, and a naphthyl group; and Ar4 and a3 independently have no substituent or a fourth substituent, and the fourth substituent is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 1 to 13 carbon atoms.
