Preforms with woven fabric elements extending radially from a common node include at least one reinforcing fiber interwoven between at least two elements and passing through the node. 1. A woven preform structure comprising:
a plurality of reinforced preforms forming hexagonal cells, each preform comprising three leg elements radially extending from a common node, wherein at least one of the legs of each preform are an inside leg that defines one or more sides of the hexagonal cell, and wherein the inside legs from each of the nodes of each of the performs form a hexagonal cell of the woven preform.
